Star Destroyer Down

Got home from work and discovered I was energized and motivated to actually do stuff to the house.

Started by looking for the carb rebuild kit (can't find it), found the duct straps, tape and screws that I'd bought a few months ago for re-ducting the dryer, and grabbed screwdrivers and plates for covering junction boxes. In the process, I knocked over the box that had the carefully disassembled Star Destroyer Lego model. Legos when shattering over the floor, alarming Christyn in the house. We picked the pieces up and boxed them again. Headed up to the attic, where I moved two boxes of infrequent-use clothes, then covered up an exposed junction box. I'm not sure why Leonard left them covered, but easy enough to fix. Then I moved back to the garage to finally redo the ductwork for the dryer.

We've moved the dryer from where Dave and Leonard had it, so the old ducting wasn't in the right place anymore. I'd acquired replacement ducting a few months ago, but higher priorities delayed the work. I ended up reusing most of the old ducting, shifting it a little and re-strapping it. It's got more bends in it then I'd prefer (2 90-degree, 2 ~45-degree, and 1 30-degree) but it ducts quite strongly out to the backyard. That should help with the dusting of lint that we acquired after ever use so far.

I like productive evenings. They let me check items off the list.

Be sure to check it every so often; those bends can become a fire hazard over time. The lint will catch at the 90 degree bends and build up...on a hot day with lots of use of the dryer it is possible (though not likely) to start a fire.

The existing ducting had a light dusting of lint, but nothing really heavily built up, fortunately But yes, I should figure out an easy to clean out those ducts periodically.
